Creativity Exercise: Branch Out

You don't have to take out a clean sheet of paper for this one.

What I want you to do is go to your local library, one of the finest inventions ever. If you don't have a library card, smack yourself upside the head, then get one. If you do have a library card, bypass the thump and proceed to the amazing stacks of wonderful books.

Now, choose a genre you never or rarely read. Biography, science fiction, history, Western, whatever. If being out of your literary element makes you twitchy, find a book of short stories.

Read.

Who could live without a library card??!?! I do love our near-by library. Some of my favorite people live there, in the books, and of course, it's the future home of the Creative Instigators book-in-progress.

What a good thought ... you keep that positive vibe about the book!

So...even when we don't coordinate on purpose, we coordinate. See: http://mikebrownspeaks.blogspot.com/2008/04/readin-where-they-aint.html
