Creativity Tips: Dan Heath on Mission Statements
Watch. Laugh. Learn. Thank Barb for the link. (Thanks, Barb!)
Interestingly enough, I had to review a variety of initiative statements with a client yesterday afternoon. We were trying to get the language describing its strategic priorities to reflect the company's culture and passion...and not sound like it came from a management book.
When somebody raised the possibility that calling their people "associates" rather than "leaders" in one statement would be better, I had flash backs to this video. Fortunately, the CEO recognized that group editing isn't a great thing.
