Creativity Exercise: Forgive

I used to think I was absolutely no good at the whole forgive and forget concept. Oh, sure. I'd forgive. But I'd never, ever, ever forget.

Funny thing though. As it turns out, once you forgive, you start to forget. Automatically. And, at some point, you turn around and realize: It's gone. The anger, the hurt. Whatever. It's gone.

In its place? More room for laughter. For wonder. For you.

Give it a try. Forgive someone something. What have you got to lose?

Wow. From this post I saw something that I've never seen before.

"Forgive and forget." But how? How can I forget some things that have been done? And in forgetting, do I not doom myself to being hurt again?

Today I read that differently. Forget not the situation that brought you harm - that was a learning experience. Forget, rather, as Jan suggested, the poisonous emotions that threaten to rule us.
