Friday Fun: Name the Monkey

This sock monkey cracks me up*. Lynn, my bestfriendinthewholeworldsincefourthgrade, uses it as her profile pic on Facebook. Yet another reason why I love her.

If you're looking for a creativity exercise today, name the monkey. I have a few names in mind, but I don't want to post them until I see what you have to say.

If you're not looking for a creativity exercise, just laugh at the monkey. And, speaking of laughter, it's time to keep Amber amused! Vicki sent this link and she recommends the Grow games.

Here's to a great weekend, filled with laughter!

*If this photo doesn't make you smile, you are working waaaaaaaaay too hard. You need the weekend. Take it.

Well, the hair is very Marge Simpson...but I'm sure there's a more creative name out there!

Lurleen Victoria Sockmoney-Simpson. Sockmonkey would be her maiden name.

OK, Leslie, don't laugh at me, but I hadn't even noticed the Marge Simpsonness. Slap me upside the head, she's definitely a Simpson.

And Lurleen Victoria Sockmonkey-Simpson makes me laugh out loud. I may have to go buy the socks and accessories and sew this monkey.

Let's hear some more names! There may be a Sockmonkey family tree out of this. Maybe we'll write a Sockmonkey Family Album -- wouldn't that be a fun kid's book?

Velma.

Ha! Totally goes with the glasses.

I hope everyone else is enjoying this as much as I am, because every time a new name pops up, I'm laughing ...

Oh, I'm feeling her as a Blanche. And that's Cherries In the Snow lipstick she's sporting.

I am thinking Loretta-and it is Cherries in the Snow lipstick-

That monkey just says: Blanche Cartwright to me.

I've got way too much time on my hands, apparently...Her name is Beulah Dorthea Woolery. She's dyed her hair red for so long she can't remember her natural color anymore. Her pearls are a nod to her hero, Audrey Hepburn. She's a chain smoker and works as a telemarketer selling lingeree.

OK, this has now become my favorite post ever. :-)

LaRue - one name says it all!

She does have a Simpsonesque quality. Paul and I both think she resembles Freda in the Pearls Before Swine comic strip. I don't think she's a chain smoker but she does "drinks a bit" hence the crooked glasses.
