Creativity Exercise: If I Were a Rock Star ...

You know I think you rock. Now, it's time to show the world. Enter the "If I Were a Rock Star" giveaway.

The "Rock Star" giveaway is a 25-word creativity exercise with big honking prizes. Here's a related creativity exercise with no prize at all: Tell me why the copy on the page I linked to makes me crazy. And we're not talking crazy in a good way ...

The entry deadline for the giveaway is Dec. 15, 2010. There's no deadline for discovering my issue with their copy. Because I'm kvetchy now, and I'll still be kvetchy Dec. 16.

But I do think you rock.

I think you're crazy in a good way all the time :> Does the copy send you over the edge because it refers to a question where there is no question?

Yes! And my faith in humanity is reaffirmed. Thank you, Ang! Now tell me: How can the team at Hard Rock and Southwest miss that? Or, noticing it, how lazy can they be? Maybe they just shrugged their shoulders and said, "Whatever." When people stop trying, stop caring, about doing it right ... that makes me crazy.

I entered, despite the question that wasn't a question. Maybe I'll win? :-)

You should win! You are definitely a rock star in my book!!!

"Word-A-Day" today was "kvetch".

"First recorded use: 1964."

I'm that much older than kvetching? Who knew?

How funny. And how odd. The women in my family were kvetching long before 1964. Trust me on this: Kvetching is much older than you!

Did they correct it? Right now it reads:

"So if you were a rock star, what would you demand? Be creative, have fun and answer the question in 25 words or less."

Nope ... I'm talking about the front page, where they're still referencing a non-existent question in the headline.
