I have enabled the moderation feature, because I was getting spam comments. I don't know if that's the issue or not ...

Thanks, Deb! And thanks for the good wishes re: the trip. :-)Janhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12432885086499343101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8317183753658499438.post-3358173701016909262012-07-18T11:58:48.446-05:002012-07-18T11:58:48.446-05:00And "Prodigal Summer" by Barbara Kingsol...And "Prodigal Summer" by Barbara Kingsolver ... And I will definitely look around for some Israeli toys to share. :-)

Other book options people have suggested via FB and email are: "Cutting for Stone" by Abraham Verghese and "A Reliable Wife" by Robert Goolrick.

I like the short stories and essays idea ... hadn't thought of that. They are good travel reads!

And I'm guessing your focus does help keep the plane aloft. Those bunny powers are pretty dang amazing.Janhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12432885086499343101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8317183753658499438.post-49755769328966542542012-07-18T09:59:17.077-05:002012-07-18T09:59:17.077-05:00I find it all but impossible to read while flying ...I find it all but impossible to read while flying - the pilot needs my attention to be focused entirely on keeping the plane aloft - but when I travel, I like books that I can pick up and put down.

David Foster Wallace's "A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again" is a collection of nicely-written non-fiction essays.

Throw in a couple of David Sedaris titles, and then, try Andrew Sean Greer's, "How It Was For Me". A collection of short fiction pieces, but Greer will make you stop, go back and reread whole passages just for the sheer joy of reading them. He is a truly inspiring writer.

Don't forget to bring us all back something, mom. (8-))Bud Simpsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04613675297997395991noreply@blogger.com
